You’re Told to do This 80 Times!

The phrase “one another” occurs 146 times in the Bible.  Almost all of the Old Testament occurrences are negative or descriptive, not relational.   Whereas over 80 occurrences in the New Testament are telling us to treat one another positively such as to love one another, encourage one another, or to forgive one another. That speaks to the period of grace the New Testament (aka New Covenant) ushered in by Jesus.  Relationships centered around the grace and love of Jesus is central and accentuated by over 80 “one another” statements.

Yes, you read that right, the phrase “one another” occurs over 80 times in the New Testament! It is VITAL we Christians do this, it’s how our relationships grow, and how we are Salt and Light as Jesus wants us to be!

Here is a sampling of the passages in the Bible telling us what we are to do to “one another”:

Bear one another’s burdens
Don’t steal from or lie to one another
